Tips for your job search during quarantine
During this period, everything is different, and we need to adapt to this new way of working; we need to keep going. To do this, we must remain active in our job search, focusing on the following:
- Identify where you would like to work: Which companies, which industry or area. It is important to research the companies where we would like to build a professional career and work in the future. This allows us to stay informed and demonstrates interest.
- Identify your strengths. It is essential that we know what our main qualities are and what we can get out of them. This way, we will be better prepared when the opportunity arises to face an interview, whether by video call or in person.
- Update your background and resume: During this period, it is advisable to update your resume, summarize it (ideally no more than two pages), and tailor it to the different job offers you are applying for.
- Stay active on social media: Update your LinkedIn profile, stay informed, and post articles that may be of interest. This will increase your visibility and make you more attractive to those of us who are looking for people.
- Online training. It is advisable to stay active by taking online courses to update your professional knowledge or learn a new language, for example.
- We all know that looking for a job is a job in itself. So, make a schedule that focuses solely on job hunting, but don't forget to rest and clear your mind. For many people, this is a very stressful situation, but you need to rest and cheer yourself up so you can give your best in interviews.
